Smooth gas supply for citizens this winter: government directives

Islamabad, November 25, 2025 – Citizens across Pakistan are set to enjoy smooth and uninterrupted gas supply this winter season as the government finalizes a comprehensive plan and issues directives to gas utilities.

A high-level meeting on winter gas load management was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik. The meeting focused on ensuring adequate gas supply to households across the country during the peak winter months.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik stated that, on the special instructions of the Prime Minister, every possible measure must be taken to maintain steady gas supply throughout the winter season.

The Managing Directors of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) briefed officials on current gas availability nationwide. Minister Malik noted that both SNGPL and SSGC have been instructed to facilitate public access and improve service efficiency. Additionally, the rollout of RLNG connections was reviewed as part of the winter readiness plan.

According to the SNGPL Managing Director, gas is currently being supplied continuously from 5 AM to 10 PM, alongside additional supply during peak meal hours, ensuring enhanced convenience for households.

Minister Malik emphasized that this year’s domestic gas supply situation is significantly better than last year, highlighting the government’s commitment to public comfort and energy security.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Petroleum Division, SNGPL, SSGC, and the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

With these measures, Pakistan aims to ensure that citizens face minimal disruptions in gas supply during the cold winter months of 2025.
