The much-anticipated Marvel film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, has officially shifted its filming location from Liverpool to Glasgow, Scotland. The decision came after a serious safety concern during the Liverpool FC victory parade in May, which left over 100 people injured.
According to a source quoted by The Sun, Marvel Studios made the call to move production in light of the incident. “The next Spider-Man will be filmed in Glasgow. Production has started now, and locals will see Tom and his co-stars filming on location,” the insider shared. “It’s really exciting for film fans living in Glasgow as they’ll get to see their city featured in the next Spider-Man movie.”
The production team has reportedly gone all out to transform Glasgow into a believable New York City. “American flags have been planted around town to make it look like New York,” the source added. “It’s uncanny — some buildings and streets look just like the Big Apple.”
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, while Zendaya returns as MJ. Jacob Batalon will also be back as Ned Leeds. Although details about Sadie Sink’s character remain under wraps, rumors suggest she may debut as Jean Grey from the X-Men universe.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, promising another thrilling chapter in the Spider-Man saga.
