The update appears to be a server-side rollout and was first spotted by several Reddit users. According to early reports, the current song’s lyrics now appear just below the album artwork on the main Now Playing screen. This means users no longer need to swipe up or open a separate panel to see what’s being sung, offering a more seamless and immersive listening experience.
Despite the change, Spotify is not removing the traditional lyrics view. Users can still access the full lyrics window by scrolling below the Now Playing screen, allowing fans to follow every line in real time while listening to their favorite tracks. Spotify is also giving users greater control and customization. If the new inline lyrics aren’t to your liking, they can be turned off entirely through the app’s settings. Additionally, users have noticed a new lyrics resizing option in the full-screen lyrics mode, currently visible in the Spotify Beta app. This feature allows listeners to adjust text size for improved readability, especially helpful on larger displays or during hands-free listening.
