SRB deploys officers for agricultural income tax collection in Sindh

Karachi, August 26, 2025 – The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has announced the deployment of officers across various districts to ensure efficient collection of agricultural income tax.

This step aims to improve tax compliance, widen the tax net, and generate additional revenue for the province.

According to an official notification issued on Tuesday, the SRB has defined the powers of Agricultural Income Tax Officers (AITO) under the Sindh Agricultural Income Tax Act, 2025. These officers will oversee tax assessments, collection processes, and verification of declarations related to agricultural income.

To streamline operations, the SRB has formed 13 specialized units, each responsible for designated districts and tehsils:

• Unit 1: Karachi East, West, Central, South, Malir, Korangi, Keamari

• Unit 2: Thatta, Sujawal

• Unit 3: Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin

• Unit 4: Dadu, Jamshoro

• Unit 5: Tando Allah Yar

• Unit 6: Hyderabad, Matiari

• Unit 7: Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Mithi, Umerkot

• Unit 8: Larkano, Kambar Shahdadkot

• Unit 9: Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Kandhkot

• Unit 10: Khairpur

• Unit 11: Sukkur, Ghotki

• Unit 12: Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar

• Unit 13: Naushehro Feroz

The SRB stated that officers would have jurisdiction over all agricultural property owners, except companies, based on their residential or mailing addresses within these districts.

This initiative reflects SRB’s growing focus on documenting agricultural income, ensuring fair tax compliance, and enhancing provincial revenue streams.
