Karachi, July 1, 2025 – In a remarkable financial triumph, the Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has shattered all previous records by achieving its highest-ever monthly tax collection, raking in a staggering Rs40.5 billion in June 2025.
This historic feat marks a defining moment for SRB and the province’s fiscal landscape.
According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, the collection in June reflects an extraordinary 44% surge compared to Rs28.1 billion in June 2024, and a robust 30% jump over May 2025’s revenue figures. This achievement is not only a testament to SRB’s relentless pursuit of excellence but also represents the highest monthly tax collection since the board began operations in 2011-12.
For the entire fiscal year 2024-25, SRB recorded a massive collection of Rs306.6 billion, a sharp rise from Rs236.8 billion collected in the previous year – a growth rate of 29.5%, underscoring the institution’s accelerating momentum.
What makes this phenomenal collection even more commendable is the backdrop against which it was achieved. Despite economic headwinds such as sluggish growth and subdued inflation, SRB’s workforce demonstrated exceptional commitment and discipline. Looking ahead, SRB is fully geared up to tackle new challenges in fiscal year 2025-26, which include taking on the responsibility of agricultural income tax collection and implementing the new negative list tariff regime from July 1, 2025.
