Steve Burton, the beloved daytime TV actor best known for his iconic role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital, is reportedly in good spirits after resolving a long-standing legal dispute with his ex-wife, Sheree, concerning their daughter, Brooklyn.
The couple, who share three children, parted ways in 2022 after Sheree, a fitness coach, became pregnant with another man’s child. On Tuesday, Steve and Sheree appeared in Orange County, California, court to finalize custody arrangements for their youngest child.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Brooklyn will live primarily with Sheree but spend alternating weekends and one weekday with Steve. The agreement also includes a detailed holiday and vacation schedule, along with a requirement for both parents to attend co-parenting therapy at their own expense.
Steve and Sheree finalized their divorce in December 2023, agreeing to joint legal and physical custody. As part of the settlement, Steve will pay $10,000 monthly in child support and a lump sum of $50,000 in place of spousal support.
Following the split, Sheree relocated to Tennessee with her new husband, Jason Amador, and their two young daughters. Steve claimed he gave up his California home to follow her for the sake of the children, but alleged she later returned to California unexpectedly. Sheree denied making visitation difficult and disputed his version of events.
In earlier court filings, Steve accused Sheree of harming the family dynamic by having an affair and introducing her new partner to their home without notice—an act he said was distressing for Brooklyn, who was just seven years old at the time.
