Pakistan Weather

Islamabad, March 25, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather alert predicting heavy rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in parts of Balochistan starting tonight and continuing through March 25.

According to the latest forecast, widespread rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected across several regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Meanwhile, isolated rainfall is likely in southern Punjab and upper Sindh.

The PMD has specifically warned of heavy downpours and hailstorms at isolated locations in Balochistan, which could be accompanied by lightning. Similar weather conditions are forecast for central and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, and Kashmir during the evening and night of March 25 and throughout March 26.

Authorities have cautioned that hailstorms and strong winds may damage standing crops in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh, posing risks to the agriculture sector. Additionally, heavy rainfall may trigger flash flooding in parts of Balochistan and central and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Islamabad, partly cloudy conditions are expected with chances of rain and thunderstorms during evening and night hours, along with possible hailstorms in isolated areas.

Major cities including Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, and Gwadar are likely to experience varying intensities of rain and windstorms. In Sindh, light to moderate rain is expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, and surrounding areas.

Over the past 24 hours, scattered rainfall was recorded in parts of Balochistan and northern regions, with Khuzdar receiving the highest rainfall of 16 mm.

The PMD has advised the public and relevant authorities to take precautionary measures to minimize potential damage and ensure safety during the forecast period.
