DC Studios’ Superman continues its strong box office performance, officially crossing the $200 million domestic milestone as it heads into its second weekend with projected earnings between $56 million and $57 million.

Directed by James Gunn, the $225 million superhero blockbuster concluded Friday with a domestic total of $194.4 million, and surpassed $200 million on Saturday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Superman has now grossed $337.2 million globally, and is expected to exceed $400 million in worldwide ticket sales by the end of the weekend.

The film shows no signs of slowing down, outperforming several competitors including I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Smurfs. Despite facing strong competition from Jurassic World: Rebirth, which currently holds the top spot, Superman has secured a solid second position and is on track to hit $275 million in domestic earnings.

Buzz continues to build around Superman, with analysts predicting it could surpass the global box office totals of Marvel’s Thunderbolts ($383 million) and Captain America: Brave New World ($415 million) as early as Sunday.

The superhero hit is expected to see a drop of around 54% to 55% in its second weekend, with estimates putting its 10-day domestic total at approximately $234 million through Sunday.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is preparing to launch its own box office challenge with Fantastic Four: First Steps, set to premiere in theaters on July 25. The upcoming release is expected to intensify the summer box office race.

With Superman showing strong staying power, DC Studios and Warner Bros. are enjoying one of their most successful theatrical runs in recent years. As anticipation grows for future installments, Superman continues to fly high, captivating audiences worldwide with its heroic narrative and blockbuster appeal.
