Suzuki Officially Teases Jimny Rhino Edition Ahead of Launch

Automotive

Suzuki Australia has sparked fresh excitement among off-road enthusiasts by teasing a tougher, more aggressive version of its popular compact 4×4.

The upcoming model, expected to be called the Suzuki Jimny Rhino, is set to make its official debut in June before arriving in Australian showrooms later this year.

Although Suzuki has kept details tightly under wraps, early teaser images reveal a distinctive five-door Jimny XL finished in striking Kinetic Yellow, paired with a contrasting black roof.

This bold colour combination, along with rugged styling cues, suggests that the Rhino edition will focus on enhanced visual appeal rather than mechanical changes.

What Makes the Jimny Rhino Different?

From the teaser shots, the Jimny Rhino appears to feature a unique exterior graphics package running along the doors, prominently displaying Rhino badging.

The design gives the compact SUV a more adventure-ready identity, aligning with Suzuki’s global trend of offering special-edition Jimnys with cosmetic upgrades and exclusive branding.

The SUV also sports newly designed alloy wheels that maintain the familiar 15-inch size wrapped in 195/80 tyres.

While still road-biased rather than full off-road all-terrain rubber, the setup looks different from the current accessory options available in Australia.

Limited Edition or Permanent Model?

At this stage, Suzuki has not confirmed whether the Jimny Rhino will be a limited-run variant or a permanent addition to the local lineup.

It is also unclear whether the package will be exclusive to the five-door Jimny XL or extended to other variants.

Familiar Power, Proven Capability

Mechanically, no changes are expected. The Jimny range continues to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 75kW and 130Nm, paired with Suzuki’s capable four-wheel-drive system. Fuel consumption remains rated at 6.4L/100km (manual) and 6.9L/100km (automatic).

Inside, the SUV retains its practical setup with LED daytime running lights, fabric seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen in the base Jimny Lite, while higher variants feature a 9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Final Thoughts

So, will the Jimny Rhino be just a cosmetic upgrade or something more collectible for fans of compact off-roaders? With its bold styling and growing anticipation, Suzuki is clearly aiming to keep the Jimny buzz alive in Australia’s competitive SUV market.
