New Chery QQ BEV Expected in Pakistan: Can It Shake Up the EV Market?

Automotive

The New Chery QQ BEV is creating buzz in global automotive circles, and speculation is growing about its possible arrival in Pakistan.

While Chery Master Pakistan has not officially confirmed its launch plans, industry expectations suggest that this compact electric vehicle could soon enter the local market—especially as demand for affordable EVs continues to rise.

Revival of the QQ Name in a New Electric Avatar

The Chery QQ name is not new to Pakistani consumers. Earlier, the petrol-powered QQ was considered one of the country’s more budget-friendly small cars.

However, over time, it lost ground as competitors like the Suzuki Alto dominated the small car segment with strong sales and widespread availability.

Now, with the global shift toward electrification, the QQ is making a comeback—this time as a fully electric vehicle (BEV). If launched in Pakistan, it could appeal to buyers looking for an economical entry point into EV ownership.

Growing EV Competition in Pakistan

Pakistan’s automotive market is undergoing a major transformation. Increasing fuel prices, rising environmental awareness, and government interest in electric mobility are pushing automakers to introduce EVs at competitive prices.

Recently, several Chinese manufacturers have entered the market with aggressively priced electric vehicles, attracting strong interest from budget-conscious buyers and automotive enthusiasts alike. In this environment, the Chery QQ BEV could potentially carve out a niche—if priced right.

Design and Features That Stand Out

The all-new Chery QQ3 features a modern rounded design with circular headlights and taillights, a closed front fascia, semi-hidden door handles, and dual-tone mirrors. It also retains signature styling elements like the “Q” logo on the C-pillar.

Inside, the EV offers a tech-focused cabin with a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset, ambient lighting, AI voice control, and wireless charging.

Performance and Practicality

The EV is expected to come with two power options—58 kW (78 hp) and 90 kW (121 hp)—along with a lithium iron phosphate battery offering a range of up to 401 km.

With compact dimensions but smart space utilization, including a 375L trunk and multiple storage compartments, it is designed for urban practicality.

Final Thoughts

So, will the Chery QQ BEV succeed in Pakistan’s growing EV race? That depends on pricing, charging infrastructure, and local assembly plans. What do you think—can it challenge existing budget EVs?
