    Bank holiday announced on January 01

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday declared bank holiday on January 01, 2020 on account of financial close of banking companies.

    In a circular issued to presidents and chief executives of all banks, development financial institutions and microfinance banks, the SBP informed that the central bank will remain closed for public dealing on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, which will be observed as ‘Bank Holiday’.

    All banks / DFIs / MFBs shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the above date. However, all employees of banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual, the SBP said.

    KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday said that the central bank will remain closed on December 25, 2019 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Qauid-e-Azam Day and Christmas.

    In a circular issued to all the presidents and chief executives of banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks, the central bank said that it will remained closed on December 25, 2019 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Qauid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the government of Pakistan.

    KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced bank holiday on account of Ashura on Muharram 9 and 10.

    The SBP will remain closed on 9th and 10th September, 2019 (Monday and Tuesday) being 9th & 10th Moharram-ul-Haram, 1441 A.H. on the occasion of Ashura.

    The SBP also announced to celebrate Defence Day and Kashmir Solidarity Day.

    The Government of Pakistan has decided to commemorate Friday, September 6, 2019 as “Defence Day” as well as “Kashmir Solidarity Day”.

    Accordingly, office hours on Friday, September 6, 2019 will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to facilitate all employees to participate in the following activities:

    Commemorate the Defence Day of Pakistan;
    Observe Solidarity with the people of Kashmir; and

    Visit families of Martyrs (Shuhada) and monuments.

    Bank holidays announced for Eid-ul-Azha

    KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday announced bank holidays from August 12 to 15, 2019 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

    In a notification sent to presidents / chief executives of all banks / Development Financial Institutions / Microfinance Banks, the central bank said that SBP will remain closed from 12th to 15th August, 2019 (Monday to Thursday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

    The SBP said that August 17, 2019 (Saturday) will be observed as working day from 9:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

    KARACHI: The banks will remain close for public dealing on July 01, 2019, which will be observed as bank holiday on Monday.

    A notification issued on Thursday the SBP said that it will remain closed for public dealings on July 1, 2019 (Monday) which will be observed as Bank Holiday.

    All banks / Development Financial Institutions/ Microfinance Banks (MFBs) shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealings on the aforesaid date.

    However, all employees of the banks / DFIs / MFBs will attend the office as usual, the SBP said.

    The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced on Wednesday that banks will be closed from June 4 to 7, 2019, in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr. This extended holiday period will allow employees and customers to celebrate the festive occasion without interruption.

    KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced bank holiday on May 01, 2019 on account of Labour Day as declared by the federal government.

    The central bank in an announcement said that its offices would remain closed on Wednesday, May 01, 2019 on the occasion of Labour Day as declared by the government.
