    Consumer prices inflate by 9.7 percent in June 2021

    ISLAMABAD: The inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased by 9.7 percent on year-on-year basis in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 10.9 per cent in the previous month and 8.6 per cent in June 2020, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Thursday.

    On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.2 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.1 per cent in the previous month and an increase of 0.8 per cent in June 2020.

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 9.7 per cent on year-on-year basis in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 10.8 per cent in the previous month and 7.6 per cent in June 2020. On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.4 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.2 per cent in the previous month and an increase of 0.7 per cent in June 2020.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 9.7 per cent on year-on-year basis in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 10.9 per cent in the previous month and 10.0 per cent in June 2020. On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.1 per cent in June 2021 as compared to a decrease of 0.03 per cent in the previous month and an increase of 1.0 per cent in June 2020.

    Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY increased by 17.6 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 19.7 per cent a month earlier and an increase of 11.5 per cent in June 2020. On MoM basis, it decreased by 0.4 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.8 per cent a month earlier and an increase of 1.4 per cent in June 2020.

    Wholesale Price Indicator (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 20.9 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 19.4 per cent a month earlier and an increase of 0.9 per cent in June 2020. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 0.9 per cent in June 2021 as compared to an increase of 0.3 per cent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.3 per cent in corresponding month i.e. June 2020.

    Headline inflation increases by 9.1 percent in March

    ISLAMABAD: Headline inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased by 9.1 percent on year on year basis in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 8.7 percent in February 2021 and 10.2 percent in March 2020, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Thursday.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.4 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 1.8 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.02 percent in March 2020.

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 8.7 percent on year-on-year basis in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 8.6 percent in the previous month and 9.3 percent in March 2020.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.3 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 2.3 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.1 percent in March 2020.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 9.5 percent on year-on-year basis in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 8.8 percent in the previous month and 11.7 percent in March 2020.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.5 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 1.1 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.1 percent in March 2020.

    Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) based inflation on YoY increased by 18.7 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 11.9 percent a month earlier and an increase of 11.8 percent in March 2020.

    On MoM basis, it increased by 5.7 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 3.1 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.3 percent in March 2020.

    Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation on YoY basis increased by 14.6 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 9.5 percent a month earlier and an increase of 9.3 percent in March 2020.

    WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 3.7 percent in March 2021 as compared to an increase of 2.2 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.9 percent in corresponding month i.e. March 2020.

    ISLAMABAD: The headline inflation i.e. Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 8.7 percent in February 2021 on year on year basis, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Monday.

    CPI inflation General, increased by 8.7 percent on year-on-year basis in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 5.7 percent in the previous month and 12.4 percent in February 2020.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.8 percent in February 2021 as compared to a decrease of 0.2 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 1.0 percent in February 2020.

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 8.6 percent on year-on-year basis in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 5.0 percent in the previous month and 11.2 percent in February 2020.

    On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 2.3 percent in February 2021 as compared to a decrease of 0.2 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 1.1 percent in February 2020.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 8.8 percent on year-on-year basis in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 6.6 percent in the previous month and 14.2 percent in February 2020. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.1 percent in February 2021 as compared to a decrease of 0.3 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 1.0 percent in February 2020.

    The Sensitive Price Indicatory (SPI) inflation on YoY increased by 11.9 percent in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 7.7 percent a month earlier and an increase of 14.5 percent in February 2020. On MoM basis, it increased by 3.1 percent in February 2021 as compared to a decrease of 0.8 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.8 percent in February 2020.

    Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 9.5 percent in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 6.4 percent a month earlier and an increase of 12.7 percent in February 2020. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 2.2 percent in February 2021 as compared to an increase of 2.5 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.7 percent in corresponding month i.e. February 2020.

    Headline inflation contracts to 8.63 percent in first half

    ISLAMABAD: The average headline inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) contracted to 8.63 percent during the first half (July – December) of the current fiscal year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Friday.

    The average inflation during the same half of the last fiscal year was 11.11 percent, it added. Whereas the average inflation was 5.96 percent during the same half of the fiscal year 2018/2019.

    The PBS said that CPI inflation general, increased by8.0 percent on year-on-year basis in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 8.3 percent in the previous month and 12.6 percent in December2019.

    On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.7 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.8 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.3 percent in December 2019

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 7.0 percent on year-on-year basis in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 7.0 percent in the previous month and 12.0 percent in December 2019.

    On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 0.3 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.6 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.4 percent in December2019.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 9.5 percent on year-on-year basis in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 10.5 percent in the previous month and 13.6 percent in December 2019.

    On month-on-month basis, it decreased by 1.2 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 1.1 percent in the previous month and a decrease of 0.3 percent in December 2019.

    Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY increased by 9.1 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 9.9 percent a month earlier and an increase of 18.1 percent in December 2019.

    On MoM basis, it decreased by 2.7 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 1.1 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 2.0 percent in December 2019.

    Wholesale Price Indicator (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 5.7 percent in December 2020 as compared to an increase of 5.0 percent a month earlier and an increase of 12.4 percent in December 2019.

    WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 0.3 percent in December 2020 as compared to a decrease of 0.9 percent a month earlier and a decrease of 0.3 percent in corresponding month i.e. December 2019.

    Headline inflation contracts at 8.9 percent in October

    ISLAMABAD: The headline inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) has contracted by 8.9 percent on year-on-year basis in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 9.0 percent in the previous month and 11.0 percent in October 2019.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.7 percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 1.5 percent in the previous month and an increase of 1.8 percent in October 2019, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Monday.

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 7.3 percent on year-on-year basis in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 7.7 percent in the previous month and 10.9 percent in October 2019. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.3 percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 1.3 percent in the previous month and an increase of 1.6 percent in October 2019.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 11.3  percent on year-on-year basis in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 11.1 percent in the previous month and 11.3 percent in October 2019. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 2.4  percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 2.0 percent in the previous month and an increase of 2.2 percent in October 2019.

    Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY increased by 12.3 percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 12.0 percent a month earlier and an increase of 15.1 percent in October 2019. On MoM basis, it increased by 3.0 percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 2.1 percent a month earlier and an increase of 2.7 percent in October 2019.

    Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 5.1 percent in October 2020 as compared to an increase of 4.3 percent a month earlier and an increase of 13.3 percent in October 2019. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 2.9 percent in October 2020 as compared to a decrease of 1.0 percent a month earlier and an increase of 2.0 percent in corresponding month (October 2019) of last year.

    ISLAMABAD: The headline inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 9.0 percent on year-on-year basis in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 8.2 percent in the previous month and 11.4 percent in September 2019, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Friday.

    On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.5 percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.6 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.8 percent in September 2019.

    CPI inflation Urban, increased by 7.7 percent on year-on-year basis in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 7.1 percent in the previous month and 11.6 percent in September 2019. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.3 percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.8 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.7 percent in September 2019.

    CPI inflation Rural, increased by 11.1  percent on year-on-year basis in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 9.9 percent in the previous month and 11.1 percent in September 2019. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 2.0  percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.4 percent in the previous month and an increase of 0.8 percent in September 2019.

    Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY increased by 12.0 percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 11.7 percent a month earlier and an increase of 14.7 percent in September 2019. On MoM basis, it increased by 2.1 percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 0.9 percent a month earlier and an increase of 1.9 percent in September 2019.

    Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 4.3 percent in September 2020 as compared to an increase of 3.3 percent a month earlier and an increase of 15.9 percent in September 2019. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 1.0 percent in September 2020 as compared to a decrease of 1.3 percent a month earlier and an increase of 0.1 percent in corresponding month of last year i.e. September 2019.
