SBP directs banks to open branches on July 8, 2022
KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday directed banks to open their branches on July 08, 2022 – the first holiday for Eid-ul-Adha to facilitate people.
The federal government has announced five days of holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Adha. Subsequently, the SBP also announced holidays from July 8 to July 12, 2022 for banks.

However, the central bank said in order to ensure the availability of banking services to trade and industry, in particular and public in general, during the extended holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, it has been decided that banks / MFBs shall arrange to open selected branches, only on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., situated in close proximity of cattle markets, big cities, business centers, commercial markets & hubs, ports etc. throughout the country.

It may, however, be noted that RTGS System and Clearing through NIFT will not be available on the afore-mentioned date. Accordingly, all clearing transactions including foreign exchange conversion transactions will be settled on the next working day i.e. Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
Banks / MFBs should ensure the deployment of minimal number of staff necessary to carry out smooth working at such branches on the above date, the SBP added.

Bank holidays announced for Eid ul Adha 2022
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday announced bank holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Adha 2022.
In a circular issued to president and chief executives of all banks, development financial institutions and microfinance banks, the central bank said the SBP will remain closed from 8th to 12th July, 2022 (Friday to Tuesday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

Bank holidays announced for Eid ul Adha
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced bank holidays for Eid ul Adha. The SBP in a circular said that the banks shall remain closed from July 20 to July 22 for Eid Holidays.
The SBP further said that the central bank would remain closed from July 20 to July 22 (Tuesday to Thursday) being public holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Adha.

Eid holidays announced by PSX
KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will remain closed from Tuesday July 20, 2021 to Thursday July 22, 2021 on account of Eid ul Adha, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

The PSX informed all the brokers, staff and concerned that the government Govt. of Pakistan vide Notification No.01/01/2020-Public dated July 13, 2021 has announced 20th to 22nd July, 2021 as public holidays on the occasion of Holy Festival of Eid ul Adha.
Therefore, Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited will remain closed from Tuesday, July 20, 2021 to Thursday, July 22, 2021 on account of Eid-ul-Adha.

SBP to monitor ATMs working during Eid holidays
KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will monitor the working of Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) during Eid holidays to ensure uninterrupted availability of cash.
The central bank on Friday said that it had provided a sufficient quantity of fresh and good quality ATM notes of higher denominations to commercial banks for smooth ATM operations during the Eid Holidays.
“In this regard, special teams of SBP and SBP BSC officials shall inspect and monitor the working of ATMs across Pakistan to ensure uninterrupted availability of cash to the general public during the Eid holidays.”
The SBP, through 16 field offices of its subsidiary SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC), issued fresh banknotes of various denominations aggregating to Rs284 billion, including Rs.274 billion via commercial banks and Rs.10 billion via cash counters of SBP BSC , during days leading to Eid-ul-Azha.
Out of the total notes issued to commercial banks, Rs. 12 billion of lower denominations (upto Rs.100), fresh notes have been provided for onward distribution among general public and account holders, the SBP said.
