    FBR issues cadre strength of IRS, Pakistan Customs

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has updated the cadre strength of Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) after creation of 41 additional posts by the finance division.

    According to the updated cadre strength, the FBR has seven BS-22 officers; five in IRS and remaining two in the PCS.

    In BS-21, the FBR said, there are 52 officers of IRS are serving and 26 in the PCS.

    The FBR said that it has 254 officers in BS-20, which included 180 in the IRS and 74 others in the PCS.

    Around 261 officers of IRS and 145 officers of PCS are in the BS-19. Likewise, 389 IRS officers and 162 officers of PCS are serving in BS-18.

    The FBR has strength of 388 officers of IRS and 113 officers of PCS in BS-17.

    The IRS has 1275 officers in BS-17 to BS-22. Meanwhile, the PCS has 522 officers in BS-17 to BS-22.

    ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday announced panel of advocates, who will represent the tax authorities in cases relating to matters of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS).

    The FBR said that advocates may be assigned Court cases for pleading before various Courts /

    Tribunals at relevant stations on the basis of merit, keeping in view their experience and facts of the each case.

    Matter relating to professional fee/ special professional fee, appointment, performance evaluation, de-notification, conduct of the Panel Advocates and other related matters will be governed by the SOPs/ policy guidelines circulated vide FBR’s letter C.No.8 (70)s(P.A)/2020/176432-R dated 12.10.2020 and any other notification issued or to be issued from time to time.

    FBR transfers BS-21 officers of Pakistan Customs

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday notified transfer and postings of BS-21 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) with immediate effect.

    The FBR notified transfers of following officers:

    01. Dr. Zulfikar Ali Chaudhary (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs Enforcement (Central), Lahore from the post of Director General, Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi.

    02. Faiz Ahmad (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement & Facilitation (Central), Lahore from the post of Chief Collector Customs Enforcement (Central), Lahore.

    03. Dr. Fareed Iqbal Qureshi (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Director General, Directorate General of Training & Research from the post of (Customs), Karachi Chief Collector Customs Appraisement and Facilitation (Central), Lahore.

    04. Muhammad Iqbal Bhawana (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Director General, Directorate General of Law & Prosecution, Islamabad from the post of Collector, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication-II), Karachi.

    05. Ms. Shahnaz Maqbool (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Director General, Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi from the post of Member, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad.

    06. Ms. Seema Raza Bokhari (Pakistan Customs Service/BS-21) has been transferred and posted as Director General, Directorate General of Post Clearance Audit & Internal Audit, (Stationed at Islamabad) from the post of Member, Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad.

    The FBR said that the officers who are drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification shall continue to draw this allowance on the new place of posting.

    FBR notifies promotion of customs officers to BS-19

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday announced promotion of officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) from BS-18 to the posts of Additional Collectors of Customs (BS-19) on regular basis with immediate effect.

    Following officers have been promoted to BS-19:

    The officer appearing at Serial No. 10 will actualize his promotion from the date he returns from deputation and joins FBR.

    The Officers who were drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification shall continue to draw the allowance on their promotion.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday notified promotions of 13 officers of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) from BS-19 to BS-20 on regular basis with immediate effect.

    Following Customs officers have been promoted to BS-20:

    The officers mentioned at Sr.No.2 and 12 will actualize their promotions on return from deputation in the light of Para 5(5) of the Civil Servants Promotion (BPS-18 to BPS-21) Rules, 2019 issued vide SRO 1493(1)/2019 dated 03.12.2019.

    The officers at Sr.No.11 & 13 will actualize their promotions against Board’s Notification No.0426-C-I/2021 dated 26.02.2021.

    The officers, if drawing performance allowance prior to issuance of this notification, shall continue to draw the allowance on their promotion.

    ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday constituted department promotion and selection committees for making recommendation for promotions and selections of Customs officials.

    A notification issued by the FBR stated that in pursuance of Establishment Division’s concurrence conveyed vide OM No. 13/16/2015-R.IV dated February 12, 2021, the following departmental promotion/selection committees in respect of posts in BS-17 to BS-18, BS-16 to BS-17 and BS-11 to BS-16 for Pakistan Customs Service / Customs field formation have been constituted for making recommendations to the appointing authority for promotions and selection:

    Hamid Ali posted as Member Customs Policy

    ISLAMABAD: Syed Hamid Ali, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) has been transferred and posted as Member (Customs-Policy), Federal Board of Revenue (Headquarter), Islamabad, a notification said on Monday.

    Hamid Ali was previously posted as Member (Legal & Accounting – Customs), FBR (Hq), Islamabad.

    The post of Member Customs was remained vacant after Muhammad Javed Ghani assumed the charge as Chairman of the FBR.

    Ms. Zeba Hai Azhar, a BS-21 officer of PCS, has been transferred and posted as Member (Legal & Accounting – Customs), FBR (Hq), Islamabad from the post of Director General, Directorate General of Training and Research (Customs), Karachi.
