Gas price hike report baseless: Musadiq Malik
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum Musadiq Malik on Friday addressed in a news conference about the baseless speculations regarding the increase in prices of gas.

While addressing in a news conference he said, we have just proposed new slabs to protect the people with low income while capable people will pay just 50 to 60 percent of the real price of gas.

The state minister also said according to newly proposed prices, fifty percent of the consumers will pay the existing amount or less than that for gas.

He added that our every step is aimed at protecting poor segment of society and for this purpose, we have proposed subsidy for those consumers who use gas for just cooking and they are fifty percent of total consumers.

Pakistan considers fixing locally assembled car prices
ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan is considering to fix prices of locally assembled cars in to order discourage abnormal price hike.
According to an official statement on Monday, apropos frequent price hike of locally manufactured and assembled automobiles in past few months.

Spokesperson has expressed concern over price surge and has taken a serious view about the frequent price increases by local automobile manufacturers/ assemblers.

The spokesperson said that the situation was unacceptable, and the government might consider to initiate regulatory measures which may include fixation of prices under the Price Control Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 1977.

Furthermore, he said that the cost structure and justification of price increase had been sought from local manufacturers and assemblers.

Prices of Petrol, HSD increased by Rs6/liter
ISLAMABAD: The government has increased prices of petroleum products up to Rs6 per liter for the month of April 2019.
The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased by Rs6 per liter and prices of kerosene oil and light diesel oil by Rs3 per liter.
The price of diesel prices has been inflated from Rs111.43 to Rs117. 43 per litre, petrol from Rs92.89 to 98.89 per litre, LDO from Rs77. 54 to Rs80.54 per litre and kerosene from Rs86. 31 to Rs89.31 per litre.
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in its summary had proposed that the price of high speed diesel be increased by Rs11. 17 per litre (10 per cent) and petrol by Rs11.98 per litre (12.8 per cent) for April.
