Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be newly engaged, but wedding bells aren’t ringing just yet. A source close to the couple revealed to People magazine that the pair are still savoring the moment.
“Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement,” the insider shared. “They are not in the wedding planning phase yet.”
The announcement came on August 26 via a joint Instagram post, marking nearly two years since Swift and Kelce went public with their relationship. The playful caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” alongside photos of Kelce’s romantic backyard proposal, complete with a stunning floral display.
Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, offered additional details during an appearance on The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma, describing how his son kept the moment heartfelt and personal. “They were going out to dinner and she was ready to go, and he said, ‘Let’s go out in the garden on the patio and have a glass of wine before we go,’” Ed recalled. “I think she knew something was up when she saw all the flowers.”
Despite fan speculation about a grand wedding, Swift and Kelce seem focused on enjoying their engagement before diving into planning. “These are two young people madly in love with each other, and I think this is great,” Ed added, hinting that their celebration has only just begun.
