Taylor Swift became emotional during one of the last stops of her Eras Tour, revealing the heartfelt moment in her Disney+ docuseries Taylor Swift: The End of an Era. The Karma singer teared up during her November 2024 Toronto concert after performing Marjorie, telling fans she was “having a bit of a moment.”
In the new episode, Swift shared that she initially felt embarrassed about showing her emotions on stage. Speaking to her brother Austin in a candid conversation captured for the docuseries, she said, “I got emotional. I felt like a dumbass. I couldn’t put words together.” Austin reassured her, saying, “Tears are the best thing,” to which Swift replied, “That’s nice of you to say, though, you’re a very supportive person.”
The singer explained that her emotions were triggered by backup singer Kamilah Marshall’s pre-show speech. Kamilah spoke about losing her mother in 2021 and expressed her sadness that her mom never got to see the Eras Tour or witness her perform. Swift reflected on the moment during the song Marjorie, when she and Kamilah often shared a meaningful glance on stage.
“Her loss made me feel so grateful that my parents, Scott and Andrea, are alive and able to enjoy the tour,” Swift said. “It put it in perspective… I just felt so lucky and that’s what cracked me. It cracked me wide open.”
The emotional behind-the-scenes moments are part of Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, offering fans an intimate look at the singer’s final tour performances and personal reflections.
