Taylor Swift is once again rewriting music history, as her hit single The Fate of Ophelia continues to dominate global streaming charts, breaking records previously set by her own songs.

The 35-year-old global pop icon released The Fate of Ophelia as the only single from her latest chart-topping album, The Life of a Showgirl, and it has been sitting comfortably at No. 1 on the Global Spotify Chart for 38 consecutive days — the longest any Taylor Swift song has ever held the position.

This milestone surpasses her 2014 anthem Shake It Off, which remained at No. 1 for 36 days, setting a new personal best for the singer-songwriter. Fans, affectionately known as Swifties, have taken over social media to celebrate the record-breaking achievement.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) declared, “ORGANIC SMASH HIT OF THE YEARRRR.” Another fan added, “The only one who can beat 2015 Taylor is 2025 Taylor,” while a third commented, “People said she peaked in 2014 — 11 years later, she’s still breaking barriers!”

Music enthusiasts have hailed Swift as “the queen of music,” praising her consistency and ability to evolve artistically while maintaining commercial dominance.

Although The Life of a Showgirl has shattered streaming records worldwide, it won’t be eligible for the 2026 Grammy Awards, as the release fell outside the eligibility window. However, the album will qualify for Grammy consideration in 2027, setting up another potential awards season sweep.
