Taylor Swift has revealed the bizarre argument between Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell in her Patient Zero music video, centred on Brendan Fraser’s most famous jungle roles.

Taylor Swift has revealed what Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell were really arguing about in her Patient Zero music video — whether Brendan Fraser played Tarzan or George of the Jungle.

Swift, 36, released a video bundle on Apple Music on Saturday featuring the original music video, the song and an eight-minute extended version containing behind-the-scenes footage.

With the music removed, Johnson, 37, and Farrell, 50, can be heard having an intense argument at a dining table.

“I’m telling you, Brendan Fraser was Tarzan!” Johnson shouts, before Farrell fires back: “George of the Jungle!”

Swift can then be heard laughing and describing the exchange.

The extended footage also provides a closer look at Swift’s work as director alongside acclaimed cinematographer Emmanuel “Chivo” Lubezki.

“I’ve been wanting to make this video my entire life,” Swift says at the beginning of the behind-the-scenes footage.

A recording from March 2025 shows Swift praising Lubezki’s lighting work and production designer Ethan Tobman’s elaborate sets.

Swift also joked about getting the project on television and asked Tobman to find out when the MTV Video Music Awards would be held.

‘Patient Zero’ Premiered at the VMAs

Patient Zero premiered at the VMAs last Sunday, where Swift received the inaugural Artist Director Honors award.

The song appears on the deluxe edition of The Life of a Showgirl and follows a woman attempting to escape a toxic relationship before helping her ex’s new girlfriend.

In the music video, Johnson and Farrell portray a seemingly perfect couple whose troubled relationship is gradually exposed. Swift appears as a ghost attempting to warn Johnson about the situation.

While the video deals with darker themes, the newly released behind-the-scenes footage gives fans a lighter glimpse into the production — particularly the deliberately absurd debate over Fraser’s jungle characters.

The revelation adds another playful detail to Swift’s latest directorial project, showing how an apparently serious scene was built around one of Hollywood’s most unexpected arguments.
