Taylor Swift has stepped up her Emmy campaign for The Eras Tour: The Final Show with a surprise appearance at an intimate event in Los Angeles attended by Emmy voters.
The Lover singer appeared alongside director Glenn Weiss at the private gathering on Wednesday, where she discussed the importance of preserving the feeling and atmosphere of her record-breaking concert tour for audiences watching the final show on screen.
According to Deadline, around 50 guests attended the event. Media and recording devices were reportedly prohibited, and Swift was not photographed during the gathering.
During the event, Swift praised Weiss for helping capture the sense of escapism that made The Eras Tour such a major cultural phenomenon.
She said one of the factors that made the tour special was its ability to provide fans with “great escapism”, adding that preserving the feeling of relaxation and freedom experienced at the concerts was essential when creating the concert film.
Swift also discussed the preparation that went into the final performance, noting that Weiss worked closely with her and the dancers to ensure audiences could remain immersed in the experience.
The appearance marks one of Swift’s rare public outings following her reported wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York last month. The couple have so far kept photographs from their wedding celebration private.
