Damien Leone, director of the popular “Terrifier” horror franchise, has officially confirmed the fourth installment of the series.
Following the success of Terrifier 3, released on October 11, 2024, Leone revealed that the upcoming sequel will bring an epic conclusion to the Art the Clown saga.
In an exclusive interview with Variety, Leone stated, “It will certainly be an epic showdown, an epic closure to this Art the Clown saga.” The director, known for his unique approach to horror, hinted that Terrifier 4 will push creative boundaries even further than previous films.
At 42, Leone remains at the forefront of horror filmmaking, and he shared that the next film will be the most experimental of the franchise.
“The idea I’m toying with in my head would probably be in some regards the most experimental, so I can’t dive into it too much.” he teased.
Leone, also known for directing The 9th Circle, admitted that while he is eager to push the boundaries of horror, he is cautious about crossing into “extreme distaste.”
He elaborated on this point, explaining, “I’m always looking for lines to get up to, to push the boundary. Maybe just step right over it. But you can absolutely fall into a level of extreme distaste that I’m trying not to do.”
Terrifier 3, which stars David Howard Thornton, Lauren LaVera, and Samantha Scaffidi, continues to terrify audiences with its gruesome depiction of Art the Clown. Since its debut in 2016, the Terrifier series has garnered a dedicated fanbase, making it one of the most talked-about horror franchises today.
