Actress and singer Teyana Taylor says she is already preparing for a potential win at the upcoming Academy Awards after earning a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
The 35-year-old star received the nomination for her performance in the film One Battle After Another and has already secured major recognition this awards season after winning a Golden Globe Awards trophy for the same role.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Taylor admitted she has begun drafting an acceptance speech “just in case” she is called to the stage. According to reports from TMZ, the actress shared that she wants to be prepared for the possibility of winning, even though the moment could still come as a surprise.
Taylor made the remarks while attending a pre-Oscars celebration on Thursday, March 12, at Mr. Chow. During the event, she joked about how stunned she might look if her name is announced as the winner, even with a prepared speech in hand.
The Best Supporting Actress category at the 2026 Oscars features strong competition. Nominees include Amy Madigan for Weapons, Wunmi Mosaku for Sinners, Elle Fanning for Sentimental Value, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, also nominated for Sentimental Value.
The 2026 Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 15, at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Comedian and television host Conan O’Brien is set to host the prestigious awards show.
With the awards night approaching, Taylor says she is both excited and nervous, as the film industry prepares to celebrate the year’s most outstanding performances.
