Islamabad, September 2, 2023 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of a thunderstorm at isolated places in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

The Met office highlighted the prevalence of predominantly hot and humid conditions in the plain areas of the country while forecasting isolated rain and thunderstorms in specific regions.

The synoptic situation is currently characterized by continental air prevailing over the majority of the country, accompanied by a shallow westerly wave present over the upper regions. For Saturday, September 2, 2023, the weather is expected to remain hot and humid in the plain areas. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms are on the horizon for upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather has dominated most parts of Pakistan, with recorded rainfall of 1 mm in Kalam. The temperature soared to 44°C in Nokkundi and Dalbandin, while Sibbi, Chilas, and Bhakkar experienced a maximum of 41°C.
