Pakistan Weather

Karachi, March 20, 2026 – The port city of Karachi is likely to experience another spell of rain and thunderstorms on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr (March 21), according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The forecast comes just days after a deadly thunderstorm hit the city, raising concerns among residents ahead of Eid celebrations. Despite expectations of mostly sunny and dry weather during the day, meteorologists have warned of potential rain and lightning activity later in the day.

Temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 29°C and 31°C, while the minimum temperature has been recorded at 18°C. Humidity levels remain high at around 86%, with calm southerly winds prevailing in the city.

The PMD noted that recent rainfall has brought cooler nights, but unstable weather conditions persist. Rain and thunderstorms are also expected across several parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and coastal areas, with a risk of lightning in some regions.

Additional districts likely to receive rainfall include Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas. Authorities have advised farmers to take precautionary measures to protect crops amid the changing weather.

For the second and third days of Eid, Karachi is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with temperatures gradually rising. Weather conditions may stay partly cloudy with moderate humidity and westerly to southwesterly winds.

Looking ahead, another system of westerly winds is likely to affect Pakistan between March 24 and 27, potentially bringing more rain to Karachi and other parts of Sindh.

Meanwhile, in Punjab, rain is forecast in several districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala, with chances of hailstorms in some areas. Weather patterns remain dynamic across the country as Eid approaches.
