The Mission: Impossible star praised the cast and crew of his latest film while sharing his pride in the project after its disappointing box-office performance.
Tom Cruise has broken his silence on the disappointing box-office performance of his latest film, Digger, sharing a message of support for the project and its cast and crew.
The 64-year-old actor took to X to share behind-the-scenes photographs from the production, making it clear that he remains proud of the film despite its early theatrical performance.
“Digger is officially in theaters, and I am so honored to have had the opportunity to create this film alongside such talented artists,” Cruise wrote.
The Hollywood star also praised everyone involved in making the movie, thanking the cast and crew for their dedication and work throughout the production.
“Thank you to the entire cast and crew for your dedication, hard work, and joy. The experience was truly unforgettable, and I’m so proud of what we created,” he added.
Cruise had previously spoken enthusiastically about his character in Digger during an interview with Extra last month.
Describing the role as “totally outrageous”, the actor said he had never read or seen a character like it before. He also highlighted a lengthy 10-minute monologue, revealing that the scene was filmed in a single take.
“I’ve never read a character like this. I’ve never seen a character like this on screen,” Cruise said, describing the experience as particularly enjoyable.
He went on to describe the character as one of the most outrageous he had encountered, explaining that he plays a “wild, billionaire” whose greed leads to a serious mistake that could potentially put the future of the world at risk.
The comments offer a glimpse into Cruise’s enthusiasm for the project despite its disappointing start at the box office.
Digger was released in cinemas on October 2, 2026, marking the latest theatrical release from the veteran Hollywood star.
