Tom Cruise describes Prince William and Kate Middleton as “amazing” and “very charismatic” after meeting the royal couple at the London premiere of Digger.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise has praised Prince William and Kate Middleton after meeting the Prince and Princess of Wales at the London premiere of his latest film, Digger.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show following the Leicester Square premiere, Cruise reflected warmly on his encounter with the royal couple.

“They are amazing. Very charismatic. I had such a good time,” Cruise said.

Before William and Kate arrived at the premiere, Cruise had also spoken enthusiastically about the pair, saying: “I just love them. They are lovely people, and I have great respect for them.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales later shared photographs from the star-studded event on their official Instagram and X accounts, including images featuring Cruise alongside David Beckham and other high-profile guests.

Cruise also opened up about his character in Digger, describing Digger Rockwell as “totally outrageous” and unlike anything he had previously played.

“He’s the kind of character that says things that some people think, some people can’t imagine thinking,” the actor said.

Cruise added that the character and the film stood apart from anything he had previously encountered.

“I’ve never read a character like it. I’ve never read a film like this,” he said.

Digger has attracted attention following the release of its trailer, which revealed Cruise in a striking transformation for the role.

The actor appears as eccentric oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, sporting grey hair, facial prosthetics and a padded bodysuit to create the character’s distinctive look.

The dramatic makeover has added to anticipation surrounding Cruise’s latest film, with audiences set to see the actor take on a character markedly different from many of his previous blockbuster roles.
