Tom Holland has officially kicked off filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, Scotland, and he’s bringing fans along for the ride.
On Sunday, August 10, the Uncharted star took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the first day of production on the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed Marvel film.
The 60-second video captured Holland suited up as Spider-Man, interacting with excited young fans, and filming an intense action sequence atop a moving tank.
The footage also showed Holland performing a high-wire stunt on the tank, then reviewing his performance on a monitor between takes. “It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said in the clip. “It’s funny, putting the suit on—it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.”
The 28-year-old actor added, “We’ve got some familiar faces on set. Man, you know, I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure—wow, that’s a really good one.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s beloved web-slinger franchise. Holland’s fiancée, Zendaya, reprises her role as MJ, while newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas join the cast in undisclosed roles.
The highly anticipated sequel follows the blockbuster success of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which became one of the highest-grossing films in MCU history. While plot details for Brand New Day remain under wraps, the set footage suggests fans can expect even more thrilling stunts, large-scale action, and heartfelt moments.
Marvel Studios has scheduled Spider-Man: Brand New Day for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026. With Holland’s personal updates, early behind-the-scenes content, and the promise of fresh faces alongside familiar favorites, excitement for the next chapter in Spider-Man’s journey is already at an all-time high.
