Spider-Man star hints fans will eventually see the iconic Symbiote as speculation grows ahead of the film’s July 31 release.
Tom Holland has hinted that Marvel fans can expect to see the Venom Symbiote in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, adding fresh fuel to speculation ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
During a fan interaction shared on Instagram by cinempolismx, Holland was asked by a young fan whether his version of Spider-Man would ever encounter the iconic alien Symbiote.
While avoiding a direct answer, the actor suggested the storyline is only a matter of time.
“We’ll get to see the Symbiote,” Holland said. “One day, I’m sure.”
His comments have reignited fan theories that the Symbiote could make its long-awaited return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in cinemas on July 31.
Speculation has intensified following the film’s first trailer, which shows Holland’s Peter Parker emerging from what appears to be a sticky cocoon, leading many viewers to believe the character may be undergoing a mysterious transformation.
Marvel fans have also pointed to the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where a fragment of the Venom Symbiote was left behind in the MCU after the multiverse events involving Eddie Brock.
That lingering piece of the alien organism has long been viewed as Marvel Studios’ setup for introducing the famous black Spider-Man suit and Venom storyline into Holland’s films.
Some fans believe Peter Parker could become infected with the Symbiote near the end of Brand New Day, with the transformation occurring off-screen. Such a development could potentially explain Spider-Man’s reported absence from Avengers: Doomsday before setting up a larger role in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.
Others speculate the Symbiote storyline may instead unfold across Holland’s next Spider-Man trilogy, gradually changing Peter Parker’s personality before his relationships with Ned and MJ are restored following the memory-erasing events of No Way Home.
As excitement builds for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland has continued to tease fans during the film’s global press tour. He recently denied rumours that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey, hinted that the movie’s title will only make complete sense in its final scene, and revealed that one person still remembers Peter Parker’s true identity.
Although Marvel Studios has not confirmed when the Symbiote will officially appear, Holland’s latest comments suggest one of Spider-Man’s most iconic comic-book storylines is firmly on the horizon.
