Marvel fans are in for a treat as Tom Holland and Zendaya are reportedly arriving in the United Kingdom this week to begin filming the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
According to a report from The Sun, production has officially started, with key filming taking place in Glasgow, Scotland.
The third-most-populous city in the UK has been transformed into New York City, complete with American-style flags, authentic road signs, and classic yellow taxis to replicate the Big Apple. Initially, producers planned to film major sequences in Liverpool, but the schedule shifted following a serious incident in the area. A source told the outlet that it’s an exciting opportunity for locals, as they will soon see their city featured on the big screen.
“There were even discussions about whether it was appropriate to stage big stunts, including car chases and explosions, after the awful crash,” the insider revealed. Despite initial concerns, the team has moved forward, ensuring Glasgow sets the stage for some of the film’s most thrilling action sequences.
Leading the cast once again, Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker, while his fiancée Zendaya reprises her fan-favorite role as MJ (Michelle Jones-Watson). Jacob Batalon is also expected to return as Ned Leeds, Peter’s loyal best friend, continuing the beloved trio’s storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The upcoming movie, directed under Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, will serve as the next chapter in Spider-Man’s journey following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the introduction of new villains and fresh storylines, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already being touted as one of the most exciting superhero releases of the decade.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see Holland’s Spider-Man back on screen, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 31, 2026. With filming now underway, anticipation is building for what promises to be another blockbuster Marvel adventure.
