Toyota has launched the Land Cruiser Commercial in the United Kingdom—a stripped-down, rugged version of its iconic SUV, designed exclusively for commercial use.
Built with utility, durability, and off-road performance in mind, this latest model is aimed squarely at businesses, contractors, and professionals who demand power and practicality over luxury.
The Land Cruiser Commercial is available only in a five-door, long-wheelbase body style and forgoes rear seats in favor of expanded cargo capacity.
Rear windows are replaced with steel panels, emphasizing its role as a work-focused vehicle. With up to 71 cubic feet of cargo space behind a full-height metal bulkhead, the SUV is tailored for transporting tools, equipment, and supplies across tough terrain.
Under the hood, it packs a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, producing strong torque and paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Permanent four-wheel drive and a towing capacity of more than 7,500 pounds reinforce its credentials as a heavy-duty performer. Whether it’s hauling machinery or navigating muddy fields, this vehicle stands out as a true workhorse.
Despite its commercial purpose, Toyota includes a host of standard features to enhance comfort and safety. The Land Cruiser Commercial offers a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a nine-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Toyota Safety Sense comes standard as well, featuring blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and lane-departure alerts—features not typically found in utilitarian vehicles.
For off-road use, the SUV is equipped with advanced features such as Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, and Hill-Start Assist. It rides on bold 18-inch alloy wheels that maintain a modern appearance without sacrificing functionality.
Toyota also revealed plans to introduce a 48-volt hybrid system for the diesel engine in European variants, promising improved efficiency without compromising performance.
Built in the UK and scheduled for release this fall, the Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial will remain exclusive to the British market. With its unmatched combination of strength, space, and smart features, it’s poised to become the go-to commercial SUV for professionals across the UK.
