Toyota has reduced prices of its Corolla Cross HEV variants after the government lowered sales tax on qualifying locally manufactured hybrid vehicles.
Toyota has revised the pricing of its Corolla Cross hybrid lineup in Pakistan, bringing down the cost of both HEV variants. The adjustment follows the government’s decision to lower the sales tax applied to locally manufactured hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) with engine capacities of up to 2,000cc.
Under the latest pricing, the Corolla Cross HEV X is now available for Rs9,729,000, reflecting a reduction of Rs570,000 from its previous price of Rs10,299,000.
Meanwhile, the standard Corolla Cross HEV now costs Rs9,299,000 after receiving a Rs550,000 price cut from its earlier price of Rs9,849,000.
The revised prices come after a major increase earlier this year. Toyota had raised the prices of its Corolla Cross hybrid models in July after the sales tax applicable to locally produced HEVs was increased from 8.5% to 25%, effective July 1, 2026.
Previous Corolla Cross Prices
At that time, the Corolla Cross HEV X moved up from Rs8,935,000 to Rs10,299,000. The regular HEV variant also saw its price climb from Rs8,535,000 to Rs9,849,000. The increase significantly changed the pricing structure of the hybrid crossover.
Government Tax Revision
The latest reduction comes after the government revised the sales tax rate for qualifying hybrid vehicles. The rate was brought down from 25% to 18% for HEVs equipped with engines of up to 2,000cc.
Following the tax revision, automakers have started adjusting vehicle prices to reflect the lower tax burden. Toyota’s move places the Corolla Cross hybrid variants among the models receiving a direct price revision under the updated tax structure.
New Prices for Corolla Cross HEVs
For now, the price adjustment is limited to Toyota’s Corolla Cross hybrid range, with the HEV and HEV X receiving reductions. The company’s latest pricing means buyers will pay Rs550,000 less for the standard HEV and Rs570,000 less for the HEV X compared with their previous prices.
The revised rates are expected to draw attention to Toyota’s hybrid crossover for Pakistani buyers across the market. The new prices also highlight how changes in automotive taxes can influence retail pricing in Pakistan’s vehicle market.
