Dubai, August 27, 2025 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially announced its 15-member squad for the much-anticipated T20I tri-series against Pakistan and Afghanistan, scheduled to begin on August 29, 2025.
The series will serve as a key preparation platform ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup, which will also be hosted by the UAE.
Led by dynamic skipper Muhammad Waseem, the UAE side will face formidable opposition from Pakistan and Afghanistan in a tightly contested tournament. Cricket fans in the region are set to witness high-intensity encounters as the tri-series provides all three teams with valuable match practice ahead of major ICC events.
The tournament will hold additional significance for the UAE as it prepares for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East-Asia Pacific Qualifier, scheduled to take place later this year in Oman. A total of nine teams will compete in that qualifier, with three earning a spot in the main event in India and Sri Lanka.
The Emirati squad includes notable inclusions such as Harshit Kaushik, who is set to make his debut, alongside experienced performers like Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Farooq, and Muhammad Jawadullah. Siddique, in particular, brings a wealth of experience, having claimed 76 ODI and 96 T20I wickets for the national side.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have also confirmed their squads, largely similar to their Asia Cup lineups. Notably, Afghanistan will be without Naveen-ul-Haq, while Pakistan will field its Asia Cup squad for this tri-series as well.
