Pakistan Telecom Authority

Islamabad – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially announced that leading cellular mobile operators Jazz, Ufone, and Zong have been authorized to launch 5G services across Pakistan.

According to the PTA, the rollout of 5G services will be implemented in a phased manner to ensure a smooth transition and high-quality user experience. The regulator emphasized that this gradual approach will help operators manage network readiness while maintaining service reliability for consumers.

As part of the rollout plan, all cellular mobile operators (CMOs) will publish updated information on their official websites, including details of geographic areas where 5G services are available. These listings will also include supported mobile handset models that are compatible with 5G technology in Pakistan.

At the initial stage, only selected 5G-enabled smartphones from major manufacturers will be able to access the next-generation network in covered areas. Service availability may vary depending on location, network infrastructure, and device compatibility.

Consumers are advised to ensure that their devices support 5G, enable the relevant network settings, and update their smartphone operating systems to the latest versions for optimal performance and connectivity.

PTA stated that it remains committed to facilitating a transparent and seamless transition to advanced telecom technologies, aiming to enhance digital connectivity and support Pakistan’s growing demand for high-speed internet services.

The introduction of 5G is expected to significantly improve data speeds, network capacity, and overall user experience as Pakistan steps into the next phase of digital transformation.
