Updated price of Toyota Corolla after imposition of 25% sales tax

Indus Motor Company (IMC) has updated the prices upward of Toyota Corolla trims after the imposition of 25 per cent sales tax and devaluation of Pakistani Rupee (PKR) against US Dollar.

The uncertain economic situation of the country and volatile exchange rate has increased cost of production of IMC, compelling the company to increase retail selling prices and pass on the burden to market.

The car is available in six variants including Toyota Corolla MT 1.6, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT 1.6, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT 1.6 Special Edition, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT-i 1.8, Toyota Corolla ALTIS GRANDE CVT-i 1.8 (Beige interior) and Toyota Corolla ALTIS GRANDE CVT-i 1.8 (Black interior).

Below are the prices of Toyota Corolla variants as on March 15, 2023.

Following are the ex-factory prices of Toyota Corolla 1.6 trims:

The price of Toyota Corolla MT 1.6 has increased to Rs6,169,000 from previous price tag of Rs5,576,000.

The price of Toyota Corolla Altis CVT 1.6 has increased to Rs6,769,000 from previous price tag of Rs6,111,000.

The price of Toyota Corolla Altis CVT 1.6 Special Edition has increased to Rs7,429,000 from previous price tag of Rs6,716,000.

The price of Toyota Corolla Altis CVT-I 1.8 has increased to Rs7,119,000 from previous price tag of Rs6,423,000.

The price of Toyota Corolla Altis Grande CVT-I 1.8 (Beige interior) has increased to Rs7,759,000 from previous price tag of Rs6,998,000.

The price of Toyota Corolla Altis Grande CVT-I 1.8 (Black interior) has increased to Rs7,799,000 from previous price tag of Rs7,039,000.

Toyota Corolla was launched in Pakistan in July 2014. The car is locally manufactured by Indus Motor Company (IMC).

The car is available in eight different colors including Attitude Black, Dorado Gold, Graphite Grey, Silver Metallic, Phantom Brown, Super White, Strong Blue and Dark Teal Mica.

The 1.6 variants of Toyota Corolla are powered by 1.6-liter four-cylinder VVTI engine which generates 120 horse power at 6000 rpm and a torque of 154 Nm at 5200 rpm through 7-speed CVT transmission and 6 forward speed manual transmission.

The 1.8 variants of Toyota Corolla are powered by 1.8 liter four-cylinder VVTI engine which generates 138 horse power at 6,100 rpm and 173 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm through 7-speed CVT transmission.

The sedan has mileage of 12km/l in the city and 14km/l on highway. The fuel tank of the car is capable of carrying 55 liters.

Toyota Corolla features a front grille that covers an opening of vehicle to protect the radiator and engine. The all new bumper design evokes a sporty stance, striking from any angle. The LED headlamps feature auto levelling, giving you the confidence to drive in any condition.

The sedan is equipped with stylish designed side skirts that gives impressive handling and control. The sedan also features LED daytime running lights (DRLs) which enhance the visibility, while attributing to the aggressive design.

It also features sophisticated back bumper which creates the exterior of car and creates a look of prestige. The Fog lights are designed to illuminate a foggy road and do not cause any glare. The car is equipped with 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels that elevate the sedan’s aesthetics.

The interior of Corolla features luxury and versatile cabin. The interior has perfect ergonomic space, where everything needed is easily visible and accessible. Elements from the 9-inch infotainment system, intuitive auto climate control, steering switches to rear USB charging ports, all work harmoniously to help make Corolla absolutely comfortable.

The safety features of Toyota Corolla include SRS airbags, seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchors, Immobilizer, light reminder warning, high mount stop lamp, key reminder warning, whiplash injury lessening seat and GOA body.
