USA’s cricket team has stamped their ticket to the U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024 following a stellar performance during the Americas Qualifiers.
This achievement solidifies their position among the top cricket contenders worldwide, as they join 15 other skilled teams who have already clinched their berths for the prestigious event.
Kicking off their Qualifier campaign, USA showcased their prowess with a comfortable victory against Bermuda. Despite a stumbling block in the form of a loss to Canada, the team quickly regained their momentum.
With an impressive comeback, they triumphed over Bermuda once more and notched two triumphs against Argentina, including an extraordinary score of 515 runs in a single match.
The last match against Canada witnessed rain-induced interruptions, reducing it to a 22-over per side affair. Nevertheless, USA demonstrated their tenacity by skillfully limiting Canada to a score of 92/9.
This chased target was effortlessly pursued, ensuring the team’s well-deserved qualification for the upcoming World Cup.
Joining the ranks of automatic qualifiers, including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe – the leading Full Member nations from the previous 2022 edition – USA has secured its place among the cricket elite.
Additionally, the tournament will feature New Zealand from the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier, Nepal from the Asia Qualifier, Namibia from the Africa Qualifier, and Scotland from the Europe Qualifiers.
