Fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is getting candid about motherhood and the difficulties of parenting adult children, as speculation continues over family tensions involving her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast on October 22, the 51-year-old star reflected on her early days with the Spice Girls, her new Netflix documentary “Beckham”, her marriage to football legend David Beckham, and life as a mother of four.
When host Alex Cooper asked what the toughest part of letting her kids make their own choices is, Victoria shared that maintaining open dialogue is key.
“Communication is everything,” she said. “We’ve always made sure our kids know that they can talk to us about anything. This is a safe space for them. But they’ve also got to go on their own journeys.”
Victoria and David share four children — Brooklyn (36), Romeo (23), Cruz (20), and Harper (14) — whom she described as “genuinely good, kind, and thoughtful human beings.” She emphasized that their family remains close despite public speculation.
Her comments come amid persistent rumors of a rift between Victoria and Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz, following their 2022 wedding. Reports suggest that tensions grew after Brooklyn and Nicola missed David Beckham’s 50th birthday earlier this year.
According to US Weekly, there is still “a huge rift” within the Beckham family, with Brooklyn reportedly showing “no interest” in reconciliation — something said to have left his parents heartbroken during key family milestones, including Victoria’s Netflix documentary launch.
However, Brooklyn appeared unbothered by the ongoing rumors. Speaking to the Daily Mail last month, he said, “People are always going to talk rubbish. I just focus on doing my thing, playing golf, and spending time with friends — it’s all good fun.”
