Islamabad, December 1, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released its latest weather advisory for Tuesday, indicating that a strong cold wave continues to sweep across most regions of the country. With temperatures dropping steadily, citizens in both urban and rural areas are experiencing noticeably colder days and freezing nights.
Synoptic Overview
According to the PMD, much of Pakistan remains under the influence of continental air. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave persists over the far northern areas, contributing to the ongoing temperature decline and dry conditions.
Weather Outlook – Monday
On Monday, most regions observed cold and dry weather, with particularly harsh conditions reported from hilly and high-altitude areas during nighttime. The PMD noted the likelihood of smog and patchy fog over parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), especially during the late-night hours. These conditions impacted visibility, creating challenges for commuters.
Weather Forecast – Tuesday
For Tuesday, PMD predicts continued cold and dry weather nationwide. Hilly areas, especially in the northern belt, are expected to remain extremely cold during the early morning and night hours. Smog and fog are anticipated to reappear over the plains of Punjab and KP during morning and nighttime, potentially affecting travel and daily routines.
Future Outlook
A further dip in temperatures is expected in northern Pakistan over the coming days. PMD also warns that fog intensity across Punjab and KP plains may gradually increase, especially during early mornings.
Past 24-Hour Conditions
