The West Indies have named their T20 International squads for the upcoming tours of England and Ireland, marking a fresh chapter under newly-appointed T20I captain Shai Hope.
The team will play a total of six T20Is this month—three against England from June 6 to June 10, followed by three more against Ireland from June 12 to June 15.
This will be Shai Hope’s first assignment leading the West Indies in the shortest format. The team sees the return of experienced all-rounder Jason Holder, who has not featured in a T20I since February 2024. Also making a comeback is power-hitter Andre Russell, who had been sidelined due to injury during the last T20I series against England in Barbados.
Nicholas Pooran, a key player in recent months, has been given a rest for both series following a long and taxing Indian Premier League 2025 campaign.
Test captain Roston Chase is included for the England T20Is but will leave the squad to join the red-ball camp ahead of the Test series against Australia. His place for the Ireland leg will be taken by left-handed batsman Jyd Goolie, who earns a well-deserved maiden call-up after strong domestic performances.
Brandon King, who is set to serve as vice-captain during the England series, will miss the Ireland T20Is due to personal commitments. Keacy Carty steps in as his replacement.
Head Coach Daren Sammy, along with assistants Floyd Reifer and Ravi Rampaul, will transition to Test team preparations after the England leg. Veteran coach Rayon Griffith will take over as interim head coach for the Ireland series.
The West Indies will look to build momentum with these matches as they begin a new leadership era and prepare for upcoming global tournaments.
