Islamabad, August 16, 2025 – Many regions of Pakistan are remained under threat of ongoing stormy weather on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued the following warning for regions of the country:
• Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pothohar region and North-East Punjab.
• Landslides/mudslides may cause road closures in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir during the forecast period.
• Heavy falls/windstorm and lightning may damage weak structures like roof/wall of Kacha houses, electric poles, billboards, vehicles and solar panels during the forecast period. Public, travellers and tourists are advised to avoid unnecessary exposure to vulnerable areas and remain updated about latest weather conditions.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating upper parts of the country. A trough of westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.

Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Potohar region, northeast Punjab, southeast Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavyfalls are also expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the period.

Partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, north/southeast Sindh, north/southeast Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavyfalls are also expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region and Kashmir.
