Wicked For Good, Universal Pictures’ highly anticipated sequel, has made history weeks before its official release.

The film, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, shattered records for first-day ticket pre-sales, becoming the highest-selling PG movie launch in Fandango’s history.

According to Film Updates, Wicked For Good not only outperformed all previous PG-rated films in pre-sale numbers but also secured a spot in Fandango’s all-time top 10 list of first-day ticket sellers, underscoring the massive global anticipation surrounding the movie.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film is set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025, continuing the magical journey that began with the 2024 blockbuster Wicked. The sequel promises new music, breathtaking visuals, and an expanded storyline. The star-studded cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Ethan Slater, and Jeff Goldblum, alongside Erivo and Grande.

Ticket sales officially opened on October 8, with the movie’s official Instagram page encouraging fans to tag friends they plan to watch the film with. Early screenings for Amazon Prime members begin November 17, while general audiences can experience the film in IMAX, Dolby, ScreenX, and 4DX formats.

The first Wicked film became a worldwide phenomenon, grossing $734 million on a $145 million budget and earning 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Actress for Erivo and Best Supporting Actress for Grande.

With Wicked For Good already breaking major records before its release, fans and industry watchers alike are eager to see if the sequel can recapture — or even surpass — the spellbinding success of the original.
