Xiaomi is preparing to officially unveil its highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 series in China later this week.
The lineup, which includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, will debut on Thursday, September 25 at 7 PM Beijing time (11 AM UTC), marking one of the company’s biggest smartphone launches of the year.
Xiaomi 17 Series Design and Display
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has shared promotional posters that give the first look at the upcoming devices. The standard Xiaomi 17 will feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED display with a 19.6:9 aspect ratio and impressively slim 1.18mm bezels. The Xiaomi 17 Pro will carry the same display specifications, ensuring consistency across the base and Pro models.
All three smartphones will also integrate M10 screen luminescence technology, which Xiaomi claims delivers the highest luminous efficiency in the industry at 82.1 cd/A. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max goes a step further with a newly designed independent RGB pixel stack, eliminating pixel pooling while cutting power consumption by 26% compared to traditional 2K displays.
Battery and Charging Technology
In terms of battery performance, Xiaomi is introducing its new Jinshajiang battery technology in the Pro models. This innovative L-shaped stacked battery uses 16% high-silicon content and supports blazing-fast 100W wired charging, offering both efficiency and longevity.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, all three devices are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising cutting-edge performance for gaming and multitasking. Out of the box, the Xiaomi 17 series will run the latest Xiaomi HyperOS 3, ensuring smoother performance and enhanced customization options.
What to Expect
With its combination of powerful hardware, advanced displays, and fast-charging technology, the Xiaomi 17 lineup is shaping up to be one of the most competitive flagship launches of 2025. The official event on September 25 will provide more details on pricing, availability, and regional rollouts.
