Xiaomi has officially confirmed the launch date, design details, and color options of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
Following last week’s teaser, the company has now revealed that the highly anticipated device will debut in China on December 25, according to a post shared on Weibo.
Alongside the launch date announcement, Xiaomi also offered an early look at the phone’s rear design and finish. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available in three color options at launch: classic Black, clean White, and a newly introduced Starry Green variant. The Starry Green color stands out as a premium option, featuring mineral particles embedded into the rear panel to create a refined metallic texture and a distinctive visual appeal.
Official teasers further confirm that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will sport a triple rear camera setup, continuing the brand’s focus on flagship-level mobile photography. While Xiaomi has not yet shared full camera specifications, leaks and rumors suggest that the phone will deliver major imaging upgrades compared to its predecessor.
In terms of physical design, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to feature a flat display, segmented volume buttons, and a sleek profile measuring just 8.29mm in thickness. These design choices suggest a balance between premium aesthetics and comfortable daily use. The flat screen design may also appeal to users who prefer a more practical viewing experience over curved displays.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, positioning it among the most powerful Android smartphones of its generation. On the camera front, leaks indicate the presence of a 1-inch type main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, and upgraded Leica-tuned optics for improved low-light performance and zoom capabilities.
While the initial launch is limited to China, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is also expected to see a global release in the coming months. With its premium design, powerful hardware, and advanced camera system, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated flagship smartphones of the year.
