Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has officially announced its next global launch event, scheduled to take place in Barcelona on February 28, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The event will begin at 2 PM local time, aligning with 3 PM in Eastern Europe, 1 PM in the United Kingdom, 6:30 PM in India, 5 AM in California, and 8 AM in New York.

The company teased the announcement with the tagline “The New Wave of Imagery is arriving,” signaling a strong focus on camera innovation and imaging technology. Industry expectations point to the global debut of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra as the centerpiece of the launch.

The device is anticipated to showcase advanced photography capabilities and flagship performance enhancements, positioning it among the brand’s most premium offerings for international markets.

Reports suggest the standard Xiaomi 17 will also be introduced alongside the Ultra variant. In addition to smartphones, Xiaomi is expected to expand its ecosystem lineup with several new devices, including the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro tablet, Xiaomi Tag tracker, and Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch. However, recent speculation indicates that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max may remain exclusive to the Chinese market, continuing the company’s strategy of regional device differentiation.

Pricing rumors indicate that the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch in Europe at the same price points as their predecessors, maintaining competitive positioning in the flagship segment. While global versions of the devices are expected to match their Chinese counterparts in most specifications, battery capacities are likely to differ.

The Xiaomi 17 is expected to feature a 6,330 mAh battery internationally, compared to 7,000 mAh in China, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may include a 6,000 mAh battery instead of the 6,800 mAh version available domestically.

With Pakistan and other emerging markets among Xiaomi’s fastest-growing regions, the upcoming launch is expected to reinforce the company’s global expansion strategy and strengthen its presence in the premium smartphone segment.
