Xiaomi Auto has officially unveiled the interior of its upcoming all-electric SUV, the Xiaomi YU7, revealing groundbreaking in-cabin technology.
The highlight is the HyperVision Panoramic Head-Up Display (PHUD), a futuristic system that projects driving data onto the lower section of the windshield.
Unlike a traditional screen, the HyperVision display offers an immersive driving experience by eliminating the standard instrument cluster and presenting key data like speed, power status, navigation, and ADAS information in a driver-friendly view.
The HyperVision PHUD is positioned at a distance from the driver’s eyes, reducing distractions and enhancing safety by keeping eyes closer to the road. This innovative feature is comparable to similar head-up display tech under development by luxury brands like BMW.
Inside the YU7, Xiaomi continues its minimalist design language. The cabin features a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, similar to the one seen in the high-performance SU7 sedan.
The gear selector is mounted on the steering column, and the center console is clean and modern, equipped with dual wireless charging pads.
Alongside the interior reveal, Xiaomi has showcased the YU7 in a striking “Emerald Green” exterior color. This unique finish draws inspiration from Colombian emeralds, known for their rich color and purity.
Achieved through a specialized double-layer painting process, the high-saturation hue dynamically shifts with lighting conditions, blending natural and industrial aesthetics.
The YU7 will officially debut on May 22, with more exterior color options expected to be announced during the launch event. Previous sightings of the vehicle in China showed it sporting a blue body color, while other Xiaomi models like the SU7 and SU7 Ultra come in different shades like “Olive Green” and “Parrot Green.”
