XPENG Pakistan Eyes X9 Electric MPV Launch

XPENG X9 EV

XPENG Pakistan is reportedly gearing up to introduce the XPENG X9 electric MPV in the local market, potentially marking another major step in the brand’s expansion into Pakistan’s fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) segment.

Industry sources suggest that the futuristic MPV could arrive alongside the much-anticipated XPENG G6 electric SUV, although the company has yet to officially confirm launch timelines, prices, variants, or local specifications.

Despite the silence from XPENG Pakistan, international details of the X9 give a strong indication of what Pakistani consumers might expect if the model is launched locally.

Futuristic MPV with Long Electric Range

Globally, the XPENG X9 is built on an advanced 800V high-voltage SiC platform, enabling faster charging and improved efficiency. The MPV offers a WLTP driving range of up to 590 km, making it suitable for long intercity journeys and family road trips. Acceleration is equally impressive for an MPV, with 0–100 km/h achieved in around 7.2 seconds.

Charging convenience is another highlight. With fast-charging capability, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes, significantly reducing downtime on long drives.

Smart Design Meets Practical Comfort

XPENG describes the X9 as the “Starship of Tomorrow,” featuring a bold, futuristic design aimed at redefining traditional MPV styling. Inside, the focus shifts to safety, intelligence, and comfort. A full-scenario surround reality (SR) display enhances panoramic awareness and safety alerts, whether the vehicle is driven manually or assisted by AI systems.

Powering the cabin is the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P intelligent cockpit chip, delivering a smooth, intuitive infotainment experience via a massive 21.4-inch entertainment screen.

Family-Focused Space and Flexibility

The XPENG X9 is a seven-seater MPV designed with families in mind. Features such as electric foldable seats, adjustable power headrests and backrests, and a spacious 2,554-litre boot ensure flexibility for both passengers and luggage. Easy access to the third row is supported by an ultra-long 1,100 mm electric sliding rail and generous 1,315 mm headroom.

Performance, Handling, and Safety

For driving comfort, the X9 boasts intelligent dual-chamber air suspension, an all-aluminum chassis, and a sophisticated suspension setup. A 10.8-meter turning radius improves maneuverability, especially in urban conditions, while adaptive chassis technology continuously adjusts to road conditions for a smoother ride.

International Variants at a Glance

Internationally, the XPENG X9 is offered in FWD Standard Range and FWD Long Range variants. Battery options include 84.5 kWh (LFP) and 101.5 kWh (NMC), with claimed ranges of up to 610 km and 702 km (CTLC) respectively.

If launched in Pakistan, the XPENG X9 could set a new benchmark in the electric MPV category. Would you consider an electric MPV for your family’s next upgrade?
