Zara Tindall has voiced support for the horse “Panic Attack” ahead of the Grand National Festival, offering a light-hearted prediction as anticipation builds for one of Britain’s most prominent racing events.
Speaking ahead of the races at Aintree, Tindall said she would “really love the girls to win” when asked about her pick for the top spot, referring to the mare Panic Attack.
The horse heads into the festival in strong form, having secured three consecutive wins before finishing third in the Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March. The performance has positioned Panic Attack as a contender to watch among racing enthusiasts.
The Grand National Festival continues to draw strong ties with Britain’s royal family, with a longstanding tradition of attendance dating back more than a century. Princess Anne was present at Aintree earlier this week, reflecting a legacy that can be traced to King George V and Queen Mary, who attended the event in 1921.
For Tindall and her husband, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, major racing events remain a family affair. The couple were recently seen attending the Cheltenham Festival alongside Tindall’s brother Peter Phillips and his fiancée Harriet Sperling.
Race day fashion also drew attention, with Sperling opting for brands closely associated with Catherine, Princess of Wales, highlighting the continued influence of royal style at high-profile sporting events.
The Grand National Festival, known for its rich history and competitive field, is expected to attract global attention as contenders vie for victory at Aintree.
