Zimbabwe Cricket, Lahore Qalandars Unite for Talent Hunt

Zimbabwe Cricket, in partnership with T10 Global Sports and Lahore Qalandars, has unveiled an innovative program aimed at unearthing budding cricket stars.

This groundbreaking collaboration seeks to identify and nurture promising cricket players through Zimbabwe Cricket’s inaugural player development program (PDP).

The PDP will serve as a platform for aspiring cricketers in Zimbabwe to showcase their skills and vie for an opportunity to participate in the inaugural Zim Afro T10 League. The player draft for the Zim Afro T10 League is scheduled to take place on July 2 in Harare.

The Zim Afro T10 League, the first white-ball cricket tournament in Zimbabwe following a franchise model, will consist of five privately owned teams: Harare Hurricanes, Durban Qalandars, Cape Town Samp Army, Bulawayo Braves, and the Joburg Lions. The tournament is set to kick off on July 20, culminating in a grand final on July 29 in Harare.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the trials and provide support to the selected players, T10 Global Sports will work closely alongside Zimbabwe Cricket and Lahore Qalandars.

Expressing enthusiasm for the partnership, Lahore Qalandars’ Chief Operating Officer, Sameen Rana, emphasized the team’s pleasure in collaborating with T10 Global Sports and Zimbabwe Cricket.

Lahore Qalandars has a proven track record of nurturing young players and affording them opportunities for success. They firmly believe that this alliance will establish a clear pathway for aspiring cricketers in Zimbabwe to represent their nation at the highest level.

Lahore Qalandars’ player development program has previously cultivated talented players such as Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Zaman Khan, all of whom went on to join the Pakistan Cricket Team.

This partnership marks the commencement of the second phase in Lahore Qalandars’ quest to discover gifted cricketers, expanding their reach beyond Pakistan to Zimbabwe. Lahore Qalandars remains steadfast in their mission to unearth fresh talent for the global sports arena.
