Earlier in the day, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced its decision to withdraw from the event following a tragic attack in Paktika province, which claimed the lives of three Afghan cricketers and five others.

The withdrawal comes amid rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both nations engaged in recent cross-border conflicts. Islamabad has urged Kabul to act against militants accused of carrying out attacks inside Pakistan, while the Taliban government denies harboring such groups.

Despite Afghanistan’s absence, the Pakistan T20I Tri-Series 2025 promises exciting cricket action, as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe prepare for next year’s global tournament.
