Zong 4G has emerged as the national leader in both download and upload speeds in Pakistan, according to the latest Mobile Network Experience Benchmarking Report released by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in collaboration with Opensignal.
Opensignal, a global crowdsourcing platform, measures the Quality of Experience (QoE) of mobile users by collecting real-world data throughout the day. The data includes indoor and outdoor usage, as well as peak and off-peak hours, reflecting actual user experiences while streaming videos, making calls, browsing, and using mobile apps.
According to the report, Zong 4G recorded the highest average download speed at 18.24 Mbps, outperforming Jazz (17.58 Mbps), Ufone (12.18 Mbps), and Telenor (6.55 Mbps). In upload speeds, Zong again secured the top position with 7.09 Mbps, followed by Jazz at 6.42 Mbps, Ufone at 3.88 Mbps, and Telenor at 2.27 Mbps.
Beyond speed performance, the report also evaluated operators across key experience indicators such as Video Experience, Games Experience, and Time on Network. While Jazz ranked first in Video Experience with a score of 46.52, Zong closely followed at 46.21. In Games Experience, Ufone led with a score of 47.94, with Zong ranking second at 42.56.
Zong also dominated the Time on Network metric, achieving the highest score of 96.47%, indicating superior network availability and reliability for users nationwide.
In the overall national rankings, Zong secured first place in Download Speed, Upload Speed, and Time on Network categories, reinforcing its position as a leading mobile network operator in Pakistan. Telenor consistently ranked fourth across most performance indicators.
The PTA-Opensignal benchmarking report provides valuable insights into Pakistan’s telecom landscape, offering consumers transparent data on mobile network performance and helping drive healthy competition among operators to enhance service quality.
