Islamabad, August 16, 2025 – Zong, Pakistan’s leading digital and connectivity solutions provider, has stepped forward with a humanitarian initiative for flood-stricken regions.
The company announced the provision of 10 free all-network minutes for its subscribers living in areas severely affected by the ongoing floods.
The complimentary minutes, which will remain valid for three days, are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted communication for residents who are struggling to stay in touch with loved ones, emergency services, and relief organizations. This initiative will particularly benefit communities in districts such as Bagh, Bajaur Agency, Buner, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Swat, where torrential rains and flash floods have not only displaced families but also damaged infrastructure and disrupted essential services.
Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong, emphasized the importance of communication in times of crisis. “As Pakistan faces another natural disaster, Zong stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation. Connectivity becomes a lifeline in emergencies, and through this initiative, we want to ensure that our customers can seek help and remain connected without barriers.”
This relief measure reflects Zong’s broader commitment to leveraging its robust nationwide infrastructure for both immediate disaster relief and long-term resilience. Over the years, the company has consistently extended support to communities during crises, highlighting its role as a socially responsible organization.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified efforts to restore connectivity in flood-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces. Flash floods have damaged multiple cellular and fixed-line sites, leading to partial service outages. PTA teams, in coordination with federal and provincial authorities, district administrations, and telecom operators, are working on urgent restoration. Meetings with local officials and telecom representatives have already been held in Buner to review progress.
Reliable communication remains a critical lifeline in facilitating rescue, relief, and recovery operations nationwide.
